Trustbank Amanah signs first financing agreement from the SME Fund.

In an important step to promote entrepreneurship in Suriname, the first signing of a financing agreement from the SME Fund took place today in the district of Nickerie. The agreement was concluded between Trustbank Amanah, as fund manager of the SME Fund, and a promising entrepreneur in the personal care industry. The ceremony was attended by Minister Rishma Kuldipsingh of Economic Affairs, Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation. This highlights the strategic cooperation between the public and private sectors to stimulate Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.

The SME Fund is made available by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation and was set up with the aim of providing entrepreneurs with access to financing that helps them grow and contribute to economic development. Trustbank Amanah plays a crucial role in this by managing the resources and, together with the SME unit, guiding entrepreneurs in responsible financial management. Minister Rishma Kuldipsingh of Economic Affairs, Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation praised the initiative and the cooperation with Trustbank Amanah.

During the signing ceremony, Clarence Tokromo, Head of Agri Business & Institutional Relations of Trustbank Amanah, emphasized the importance of financial inclusion and sustainable growth for the Surinamese economy: "With this first financing from the SME Fund, we are taking an important step in supporting our entrepreneurs and creating new economic opportunities.
