TRUSTBANK AMANAH CEO MAUREEN BADJOERI IN “THE TOP 10 MOST INFLUENTIAL WOMEN IN ISLAMIC BUSINESS AND FINANCE 2019”

The role of women in Islamic Banking & Finance is highlighted and promoted by ISFIRE, a bi-monthly magazine from Cambridge Institute for Islamic Finance.

In 2017 ISFIRE published the WOMANi50 for the first time, a list of 50 most influential women in Islamic Finance. Last year the list expanded to 100 women and this year the list has expanded by 300, the methodology being based on 3 factors: professional leadership, advocacy and industry-wide recognition.

From the list of 300 women, Trustbank Amanah CEO Maureen Badjoeri is in the top 10 and finished in number 5. “The total commitment of the total Trustbank Amanah team, the involvement of our shareholders and the support of the Surinamese monetary authorities have the successful transformation from the conventional to a fully-fledged Islamic bank, made possible ", says CEO Maureen Badjoeri.

Earlier this year, CEO Badjoeri received the Award for Success Stories during the 1st African Islamic Fintech Summit in Tunisia organized by SAIFI –Event together with the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD). This award relates to the successful conversion journey of Trustbank Amanah.
