TRUSTBANK AMANAH TRUSTBANK SIGNS MOU WITH ICD, WIFAK BANK AND ALL AKHDAR BANK.

In Marrakech, Morocco during the 44th annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) from 3 to 6 April 2019, Trustbank Amanah, along with other Islamic banks, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), member of the IsDB group. The signing took place between ICD CEO Ayman Sejiny and Trustbank Amanah CEO Maureen Badjoeri.

The ICD offers its partners the worldwide platform that includes information exchange, technical assistance, financing options to stimulate the private sector, banking assistance and the laying of a basis for actual financial transactions within the IsDB member states including Suriname.

With such a platform, the ICD demonstrates the productive application of FinTech in modern global business affairs, to help reduce the financial transaction costs for its affiliated banks, leasing companies and microfinance institutions and to improve its advisory role to its partners in the Islamic development network.

The aim of this network is to strengthen the partnership between the participating Islamic banks, to strengthen ties between the IsDB member countries, to develop the capacities of the banks and their services for customers and to contribute to the implementation of the Islamic financial sector.

In line with this, Trustbank Amanah signed two MOUs with the Wifak Bank and the Al Akhdar Bank, Islamic banks of Tunisia and Morocco, in the presence of the ICD management. This establishes the cooperation between the banks.

“With these partnerships we are continuing our strategic goals: contributing to the socio-economic development of micro, small and medium-sized businesses, achieving sustainable financial growth, creating prosperity and serving as a financial hub for Islamic Banking & Finance in the Caribbean and Latin America "said Trustbank Amanah CEO Maureen Badjoeri. In addition, Trustbank Amanah regards Fintech as an important pillar to give substance to its transformation strategy.
